From our subscribers:
I have enjoyed The Monastic Way for 2 or 3 years, but your November 2007 issue has touched my heart the
most. Especially the quote on the first page by Jiddu Krishnamurti, when he gives advice about dying: He
tells his close friend that “in his dying, a part of you dies and goes with him. Wherever he goes, you go
also: he will not be alone.” My wife Jean and I will be noting our 67th wedding anniversary January 16,
2008. So that’s why the November issue appeals to me so much. It’s full of helpful hints on dying.

About six weeks ago I asked if I could duplicate the February issue of The Monastic Way for a group I was
planning to lead using Wisdom Distilled from the Daily with its study guide. You offered to send me
complimentary original copies.
I enjoy reading The Monastic Way each morning, day by day, for quite a few years, and this past February
[2007] issue is especially good for those willing to look at and broaden their spiritual horizons.
Thank you for your generosity and please thank all the photographers. The pictures are wonderful and I
always check to see who took them.

If the monastic life teaches us anything,
it teaches us to seek God, to find God
everywhere. The monastic learns that
God speaks to the heart in many
tongues. This year's Monastic Way
looks at the insights of great writers and
asks the question, What of God is in
this for me?
